THE EVEREST ANALYSIS & BETTING STRATEGY (CURRENT MARKET)

Distance & Class

Open Weight For Age over 1200m.

Track Bias

Expecting an even track with all runners getting their chance dependent on individual race pace.

Early Speed

Fast

Expecting them to fly along here with Nature Strip [5] ridden aggressively to lead with Eduardo [9] pushing forward to sit handy throughout, there will also be speed from Dollar For Dollar [1] & Haut Brion Her [3] but expect them to take a sit off the pace, Classique Legend [6] and Bivouac [10] will get the run of the race off the speedsters.

Top Pick

Just keep coming back to 3. CLASSIQUE LEGEND trained by Les Bridge, the win first up over the likes of Eduardo & Bivouac was totally dominant in The Shorts (1100m) before having to race wide throughout in the Premiere Stakes (1200m) where he looked like he would drop of but kept fighting on hard to the line having to sit on the speed which doesn’t suit the gelding, maps to get a lovely run just off the speed and with that run at 1200m under his belt he looks primed to peak against the best sprinters in Australia.

Danger

The South Australian galloper 7. GYTRASH would be the favourite if he was trained by the likes of Waller, Waterhouse or Snowden and feel the current price of $6.50 is over the odds and feel he will keep drifting come race time, don’t let the drift concern you as Gordan Richards is a top shelf trainer and the form the gelding brings into the race is outstanding, was sent out second favourite when resuming in the Concorde Stakes (1000m) and went straight past Nature Strip late running strongly through the line indicating the 1200m will suit, he runs well second up and will appreciate the fast early speed.

Lay

Laying the long time favourite for the race 1. NATURE STRIP for the Chris Waller stable, if he brings his peak performances that he has shown in his career he could blow them away but feel he hasn’t returned the same horse this time in, there is also a big concern that one or two gallopers in the race might take him on early and soften him up, that’s not a risk I would want to take as a punter at his current market price.

THE KOSCIUSZKO ANALYSIS & BETTING STRATEGY (CURRENT MARKET)

Distance & Class

3YO+ Set Weights over 1200m

Track Bias

Expecting an even track with all runners getting their chance dependent on individual race pace.

Early Speed

Fast

Expecting a very fast pace with the likes of Fender[3], Two Big Fari [6], Front Page [8] & Man Of Peace [9] all wanting to find the front or be very handy throughout, Handle The Truth [13] Ice In Vancouver [13] will enjoy a nice run just behind the speed.

Top Pick

Found it very hard to go past the favourite 14. IT’S ME for the Brett Cavanough stable, the mare has been a dominant winner in all three career starts leading in and was even mentioned as an Everest starter by some leading experts, if the mare is able to reproduce the figures from her last two starts she will be too good for them, the fast pace will suit and I feel you will get a much better price come race time.

Danger

Love the each way value of the Keith Dryden trained 1. HANDLE THE TRUTH with the in form Nash Rawiller taking the ride, should of finished closer to the winner when resuming over 1200m last start at Randwick where the gelding didn’t get much luck at a crucial time, he would of taken plenty of improvement of that effort, has won 3 times from 6 second up attempts and will appreciate the fast early tempo.

Lay

Taking on the Geoff Duryea trained 5. FRONT PAGE at its current price in the market, feel the gelding was only fair when resuming over 1100m at Caulfield last start sitting on the pace throughout and getting out sprinted late, I don’t like the fact he is 28 days between runs as he has run his best races when racing within 14-16 days from the start prior.

GROUP 1 CAULFIELD CUP ANALYSIS & BETTING STRATEGY (CURRENT MARKET)

Distance & Class

3YO+ Open Handicap over 2400m

Track Bias

Expecting an even track with all runners getting their chance dependent on individual race pace.

Early Speed

Genuine

Expecting a genuine pace throughout with Dashing Willoughby [2], Anthony Van Dyck [21], Prince Of Arran [19]Dalasan [14] & Finche [12] all wanting to be prominent in the run. Vow And Declare [18], Buckhurst [9], Mirage Dancer [6] & Master Of Wine [7] will settle just off the pace.

Top Pick

The Team Hawkes trained 11. MASTER OF WINE looks set to peak here getting out to 2400m at his fourth run this preparation, went straight from 1400m to 2000m in the Turnbull Stakes last start at Flemington settling along way off the speed before finishing the race of powerfully late in the quickest late sectionals, gets a nice run just off the speed and the in form Craig Williams takes the ride.

Danger

Expecting a forward first up showing from the UK trained 8. DASHING WILLOUGHBY at big odds, he brings solid form into this highlighted by the first up effort back in June over 2414m at Newmarket where the gelding led and gave nothing else a chance running them into the ground, has drawn beautifully in barrier 2 to lead or be right on the speed throughout. I would suggest also taking the price now for the Melbourne Cup here: Melbourne Cup Market

Lay

Taking on the Chris Waller trained 7. VERRY ELLEEGANT after a gut busting run last start over 2000m at Flemington in the Turnbull Stakes where the mare had to race wide throughout, very tricky barrier in 11 and could potentially have to go along way back in the run to find a position, at the current price of $5 I am very happy to oppose her.
